Two More Gifts

This weekend I made two more gifts that turned out great and each one only took a day to make!
The first one is a kids retro style apron with bias taped edging.

The second gift I made is a backpack that my family is amazed at. I borrowed this book from the library and there were two pattern sheets missing from it and there are four. The pattern for the backpack was on one of the sheets thats missing so I made up my own pattern and used the book as a guideline. I used a glow-in-the-dark zipper, though I didn't know it was until I after I bought it, and worked great. I am very pleased with the results.

Happy sewing!

I'm Back With Crayon Rolls and Matching Totes!

Hey everyone, I'm back! YAY! I just started sewing again on Sunday and started by making crayon rolls following this tutorial. They turned out AWESOME!!! I love the buttons and fabric SO much!

I had alot of extra fabric and all I bought was half a yard each. So to use up the fabric I made matching totes with rossetes on them.

I think the two girls I made them for are gonna love it!

Happy sewing!

Taking a Break...

Right now I am just taking a break from crafting. In the meantime here is a picture of my cat when we first got him getting in mischief.

Another Purse For Me!

I made another purse for myself and this is by far my favourite purse I have made. I drew up the pattern and design all by myself.

I had a huge hole in my old one so I made sure that I had big seam allowances on this purse. I LOVE the belt detail! My mom even asked for a purse like this one.

I added a zipper and now I don't know how I lived without it, it is so handy.

I made a flower to match using this tutorial and it is so pretty!

this was my inspiration:

I am so happy with the results!

I Finished!

I finished the shawl and shawl pin and slippers!

The shawl was really easy to make. It worked on the shawl whenever I sat down to watch TV or when I had some free time. I did a single crochet border on the top and a shell border on the two sides.

I made a shawl pin following this tutorial and it is VERY easy.

And a pair of matching slippers.

I used the pattern from crochet today, an older issue. I have made four pairs of slippers from this book since I got it. One for my mom, one for my grandma (on my dads side), one for my other grandma who passed away from cancer and now this one for my great aunt. It is a really easy pattern to follow and quick to make.

This will be sent to my aunt when my mom finishes the quilt. I hope she likes it. If You didn't hear she has been diagnosed with breast cancer and will have both her breasts removed. Please pray for her.

Color Your Summer, I Was In The Top 10

I got to the top eleven in the color your summer contest. YAY! I entered a fabric Frisbee with cardboard in the center, an appliquéd scene on the top and bias tape to keep it together.
