Mothers Day

Mothers day is a day to celebrate mothers and what they have done for us and what they are still doing. I always try and make beautiful cards and gifts for mothers day. Today I will show you what me and my sisters have made for our mother.

First up is the card we made, this was my inspiration.

This is my version.

I still need to write something inside though and I think I will write something like this.

Now here is what we made for our mom.
From me is the flowers (from this post), from my younger sister is the vase and from my youngest sister is the bracelet.

All together.

If you would like a tutorial on how to make any of these email me or leave a comment below.

Happy sewing.

Update

Sorry for not posting for a while I have been lazy busy doing a lot of sewing and have been taking advantage of this beautiful weather we have been having.

First up here is a library bag I made from Weekend Sewing. It turned out beautifully and only took around two days to finish. I went to the library and a local quilt shop today and got a lot compliments on my bags (this purse). I used flannel for the outside and leftover fabric from my lounge pants for the lining. I love gathers on the front and the bias tape kind of strap (though I only folded it once like this).

I was to lazy to hand sew the side parts so I zigzagged them.

This not sewing but I just wanted to show you what I got from Mary maxim. A SOCK LOOM!!!!!

I also got this book from Mary maxim so that I can actually use my nifty knitter.

I made two bike baskets for my sisters using this tutorial. I didn't use interfacing (I never do) I used cardboard for the bottom and for the part that attaches to the bike I used thick fabric. For my youngest sister I had to add another thingy that attaches to the bike or else it would of kept twisting and turning. I also machine appliquéd butterfly's on one and hearts on the other one. They turned out perfectly! I also made some streamers for their bikes using paper ribbon that I cut into pieces, tied a knot and with a stick pushed that knot into the hole and it stays. Enough talking here are pictures.

Hope you have a good week and happy sewing.

Padme Clothes

Right now I am watching star wars attack of the clones and I am loving Padme's wardrobe. I love the flowing full length dresses and I am hoping if I can somehow figure out how to make her clothes. Here are my favourite dresses.

Sorry if I sound like a star wars dork or something I just adore the dresses.

Sew...

So lately I have been doing some projects here some projects there, but I really need to show you all what I have been doing.

Here is the green m&m character that I made. I decided the arms where to long so I added Velcro to them so it could hold stuff. If you are interested email me.

My younger sisters LOVE this book, They are constantly reading it over and over again. I was a little bored this one time and decided to make a red hot chili from that book. My sisters loved it so much. If you would like a tutorial on how to make it leave a comment below.

Of course I can't get away with making something from only one book. So I was asked to make a turnip from their second favourite book. If you would like a tutorial on how to make it leave a comment below.

I have also been doing some crocheting too. I got the new crochet today magazine and it has the cutest stuff . I am making the fairy doll.

Do you know the game tiny wings? Well my family requested a plushie so I made one. This is my first one.

It looks like a fish and it doesn't look anything like this:

After hours of work, lots of trials and errors I finally finished it. Here it is.

Isn't it adorable. I love it SOOOOO much.
If you are interested in this email me.

Edit: I now have a tutorial for this here.

Wrist Pincushion

I was looking at different stuff on Google and happened upon this tutorial. It looked so pretty I just HAD to try it. I messed up from when you gather the base to when you sew the cushion onto the base. So I just took the base piece and the top piece sewed them together with a gathering stitch (leaving an opening) stuffed it and sewed it closed. then finished it the same as in the tutorial.
I love the blue, it's SO pretty!

Look at my horrible stitches.

Sorry about the bad pics my camera was almost out of battery and I wanted to finish before it shut off.
