So first off I would like to apologize for being absent for so long. We went on vacation for three weeks and when we came back we ended up doing renovations for like two months. life.
Okay on with the review. The other day I bought this book the 'Encyclopedia of crochet'.
Now normally I don't buy encyclopedia's because I prefer project books but this book is amazing. The illustrations are really good...
I love the projects, like look how cute this hedgehog is...
The book shows you how to do different textured patterns with blueprints for each one...
Also they have patterns for motifs also with blueprints...
I give this book 5/5 stars. This is a must have if your a beginner or you want to increase your crochet skills.
Happy crocheting!

baby gifts
A relative of mine is having twins, a boy an a girl, so my mom and I sewed up some gifts for them.
First up is pee pee teepees or wee wee wigwams. It will come in handy with the baby boy. Tutorial here.
Next I made these bunny blankies one for each baby. I used fleece on one side and cotton on the other. Tutorial here.
I made these two hats from some extra fleece my mom used making two baby blankets. Tutorial here.
I made two fabric books from panels I got at fabricland. The first one is for the girl and it is a safari theme.
The second one is for the boy and is a farm theme.
Me and my mom crocheted two sets of a hats, mitts and booties. My mom crocheted the blue set and I crocheted the greenish set. Tutorials: booties(there are seven parts to it), baby hat, I just kind of made the mitts like the booties except a different shape.
Last up is this playmat. I took four panels and sewed them together with binding.
I appliqued some fuzzy fabrics on the animals for feeling.
I also attached some toys in the center. The butterfly has beads in it for noise. the sun has part of a chip bag in it for noise. the other ones are flat.

I Finished!
I finished the shawl and shawl pin and slippers!
The shawl was really easy to make. It worked on the shawl whenever I sat down to watch TV or when I had some free time. I did a single crochet border on the top and a shell border on the two sides.
I made a shawl pin following this tutorial and it is VERY easy.
And a pair of matching slippers.
I used the pattern from crochet today, an older issue. I have made four pairs of slippers from this book since I got it. One for my mom, one for my grandma (on my dads side), one for my other grandma who passed away from cancer and now this one for my great aunt. It is a really easy pattern to follow and quick to make.
This will be sent to my aunt when my mom finishes the quilt. I hope she likes it. If You didn't hear she has been diagnosed with breast cancer and will have both her breasts removed. Please pray for her.
